Distinguish between Mulberry silk and Polyester fiber by burning method:
1. Quality Silk-There is smell of burning hair and the flame is invisible when burning the edge of the real silk fabric. As soon as the flame is taken away, the fabric will stop burning. Fake Silk-When burned, there rises a flame, smells plastic, and goes rapidly.
2. Quality Silk-The ash from burning is black, crispy and turns to powder easily when twisted in fingers.
